About GMF

The Story of GMF

Global Missionary Fellowship (GMF) was founded when Korean missionary movement began to emerge in the 1980’s. Although Korean churches have been interested in sharing the gospel to all nations from the early state of Christianity which was introduced more than 100 years ago in Korea, only a handful of her missionaries were engaged in the cross-cultural missionary work until 1980’s. And Korean churches were lack of a well-established sending structure that would not only allow the Korean churches to send out cross-cultural Korean missionaries, but also to be able to cooperate with the international mission organizations through networking and partnership.

That is why the mission agencies such as the Global Bible Translators (GBT), the OMF Korea, and the Global Missionary Training Center (GMTC) joined together under the name of GMF with the intention of becoming a full functioning indigenous mission structure that would become interdenominational as well as international.

Since the establishment of GMF, more entities such as GMP, GPTI, and KRIM have been established. As of 2021, there are 10 entities with more than 900 overseas missionaries and 100 home staff including general office workers under GMF.
